This would have to be the ultimate in mountain biking trips. A fun scenic cross country ride followed by a 900m full-o-fun descent!
Mount Arthur Car Park to Upper Takaka via Flora Saddle and Baron’s Flat. A huge day’s technical riding through Kahurangi National Park on a walking track that has recently been opened to mountain biking. Remote, committing and fun.
A stunning ride through Native bush and out onto thealpine Coppermine Saddle with stunning views before a fun ride back down the other side on some of the countries best single track.
Easy or Intermediate
One of our epic rides into really remote and pristine New Zealand back country. A big descent on some challenging switchbacks and a variety of terrain that make this an ideal ride for those looking for a challenge both physically and mentally.
A full day out. Climbing up the easy gradient of the old mail road to the Lyell Saddle and beyond. Soak in some history along the way with historic mining relics. Big views at the top and a sense of remote country with pristine native forests.
Easy or Intermediate
A cruisy and gently undulating ride through farm tracks with big views of farewell spit. A full day trip including stops at some great points of interest. A mixture of sightseeing and great easy riding all in one – “A great day out!”
Canaan Downs – A pedally ride through rolling high country farmland. Grunty climbs and swooping descents dip in and out of stands of native bush. Some techy bits and creative track building keep you awake and stunning vistas make sure that you stop and look around.
The Hacket Track follows alongside the beautiful Hacket River up to the foothills of the Mount Richmond Forest Park. Stop to admire the views or spot the trout rising in the river.
The Rameka Track – is one of New Zealand’s classic rides. Rocks, roots and technical creek crossings keep you on your toes as you sweep through lush native bush. And it has recently got a whole lot better...
Aorere Goldfields – Discover some of early New Zealand as you roll along the trails and water-races of this historic mining area. A good level of mountain biking skills recommended.
